TASK 10 //
SHOT LIST

In order to successfully film my short film, I felt it was necessary to complete a full list of shots which I would be shooting in order to structure myself when filming on a particular day. Each shot list contains the contents of: the shot number, the description of what is actually happening in the shot, the shot type, the shot's angle, the movement within the shot and the location of where the filming will take place. The first shot list shown was my initial thoughts on how the filming should take place and the detailed, shot-by-shot analysis of what would happen within the short film in terms of story line.
My first shot list shown was based upon a story where the protagonist, Sophie, is seen getting ready to leave her house. She begins putting on make up and her accessories, which she would identify with as she takes the inspiration of 'goths'. Once she leaves her house, she embarks the journey of walking to an unknown destination to the audience. She eventually walks past a school, where she would begin having flashbacks of her abusive past in this particular school. She would continue walking past the school, giving the audience the impression that she is skipping school, following the typical stereotype of a goth. However, it is shown that she is actually attending a violin recital's rehearsal, which would be a great shock to the audience.
The second shot list which I have completed is slightly different to the first, in that I have opted to take a more minimalist approach, opposed to taking a heavy-handed approach. This is due to the change I have made of removing the flashbacks where Sophie is seen being bullied by other girls in her school. Instead, as she is walking past her school, she begins having a panic attack, where her vision becomes blurry and struggles to walk. She has a panic attack, as the sound of abusive words being shouted at her and the sounds of screaming are intensified, representing her experience within the school. The screen would eventually turn completely black, where she is then seen composing herself after the panic attack. I believe this will be more realistic and more manageable to recreate, as the scene where she is being hit may not be able to be executed at a professional standard by me.
